Overall Ratingthis model has an overall rating of 4 out of 5 stars

Overall Review 78% of the food processor reviews for this model are very positive and accompanied by a 4 or 5 star rating. Most people agree that it is a great value and works well for it's size. This diminutive machine excels at small tasks such as chopping herbs or garlic. It's great for small batches of pesto or hummus. Most of the unfavorable reviews stemmed from consumers who expected it to perform in the same way as a full sized version will. Both mini and full sized processors are useful, but for different types of tasks. See our buying guide for more information on choosing the proper size for your particular needs.

The overwhelming majority of users love this handy appliance. They say it is well-powered and has very sharp blades. This combination of features contributes to perfectly chopped food that doesn't turn to "mush" before it is done. There is also an auto-reverse blade feature which is quite helpful if food gets stuck under the blade.

This model does not come with any slicing, grating or shredding disks and they are not available for future purchase. This is really more of a food chopper than anything else. This appliance can be a great addition to your kitchen, as long as you purchase it with realistic expectations. You won't be using this unit to knead bread or make large batches of sauces, but you can use it to make small batches of nut butters or chop herbs with ease.

The main reasons for dissatisfaction with this model are size based. There are quite a few complaints written by users who thought they would be able to fill the work bowl to capacity, even with liquid ingredients. It is important to realize that this should never be done with any food processor. It can only be used to process 4 cups of a more solid material at once; liquid capacity of any unit will be at about half of the work bowl. That means if you are making sauce, you will maxed out at 2 cups per batch with this unit. To make 4 cups of sauce in one batch, you would need at least an 8 cup model, or a blender.

There is another compliant that you ought to be aware of before making your final decision. This one has to do with the "stainless steel" finish. Cuisinart offers this as a color choice, not a material choice. That means the base is still encapsulated in plastic, but that plastic is made to look like stainless steel. Many companies do this now, it is not just Cuisinart. They really ought to be more clear about what you really do get when you choose the "stainless steel." The omission of that information  led to a few negative reviews from consumers who felt it was deceptive advertising. Being fully aware of this fact before purchase should prevent any danger of buyer's remorse.

Obviously any inadequacies caused by this food processor's small size can't be overcome, but this is a great option if you're looking for a small machine to help with the little tasks that come up regularly in your kitchen. There are 202 detailed consumer food processor reviews available written by real people who have used this model. Overall Rating – this product has an overall rating of 3.5 out of 5 stars

Overall Review –    69% of the food processor reviews for this model are quite positive and paired with a 4 or 5 star rating. Most users find it to be very helpful for small kitchen projects. This is a small unit with a 4 cup bowl; that is why Cuisinart refers to the CH-4BK as a chopper/grinder. It is intended for use with small kitchen tasks; it is not intended to take the place of a full-sized unit for all your processing needs.

There is one great feature on this appliance: it has a patented auto-reverse blade. Sometimes food will get lodged under a blade and it can be difficult and time-consuming to dig the product out from under the blade. Reversing the blade takes care of this problem. There are also positive comments about how quickly and precisely the blade stops once you stop pushing the button. This is a great thing since it will stop you from accidentally over-processing anything. The blades on many units continue to run for a few seconds after releasing the control. Those few seconds can mean the difference between properly chopped food and unappealing mush. The blade on this unitalso locks into place, which means you can tip the bowl over to get the food out without the blade falling out of the bowl. This is not the case with most models.

This model is much quieter than the cheap versions found at most big box discount stores, although it does not cost that much more. It is very well-powered and operates quite smoothly. Most users report that it is easy to assemble, easy to use and easy to clean. Overall, this is a great little machine that does a fantastic job when it is used as intended.

The negative reviews were mainly from people who expected this appliance to perform as well as a full sized model or didn't realize that you can't put 4 cups of product in a 4 cup bowl. Not sure what size is best for you? Check out our Buying Guide for more information on size.

It is also important to note that "die cast" is a color option, not an actual product material. Cuisinart ought to be more clear about this. Many companies are using color descriptions that can be construed as misleading. The "die cast" option for this unit still has a plastic housing around the base; the plastic is simply finished to give the look of die-cast metal. Being aware of this before purchase should eliminate much of the potential buyer's remorse. You will find a couple of negative reviews written by people who felt the description was deceptive advertising. Wolfgang Puck WPFPR035 4-Cup Continuous-Flow Food Processor with Overload Protection

Bowl Size Mini – 4 Cup

Accessories and extras –reversible slicing/shredding disc and chopping blade

Overall Rating – 3 out of 5 stars

Overall ReviewOnly 50% of the reviews were accompanied by a 4 or 5 star rating. The general feeling is that this is a decent food processor for the price. It is well suited for light occasional use for 1 or 2 people. It's not the best you can get but it's not priced to be competitive in that arena.

It does offer a continuous feed chute so that you can divert food into a bowl and not stop when slicing large amounts of vegetables. This gives it an advantage over other mini food processor models.

Inexpensive food processors have less weight to add to stability and tend to jump around the counter during use. The Wolfgang Puck uses suction cups to overcome this problem. You still won't get the other benefits of a higher power motor. A 4 cup capacity is quite small but certainly has it's uses.Overall, this one might be worth considering if you need a low priced food processor.See All 12 Reviews
