Baby

There are many dedicated baby food processors available. Some (such as the Beaba BabyCook and the Cuisinart listed below) also cook the food before pureeing, streamlining the process of making baby food. However, you may want to consider a "normal" food processor which is capable of making so much more than just baby food. You will be able to make healthy, from-scratch meals for your baby through all steps of childhood. Your best option is a full-sized model with a mini-bowl. This will allow you to make small batches in the beginning while the baby isn't eating much, while still using the full-sized bowl for the rest of the family. You will then be able to keep up with the growing food demands of your growing child. One important thing to look for: BPA-free work bowls. BPA can be unhealthy for anyone to consume, but it is especially dangerous for babies and small children. Breville offers one of the most versatile machines with two bowl sizes available and has the added bonus of all parts that come into contact with food being BPA-free. Click HERE to find out more about the Breville Sous Chef.

Cuisinart BFM-1000 Baby Food Maker and Bottle Warmer

Bowl size 4 cup

Accessories and extras Comes with an integrated measuring cup, bottle adapter ring, spatula and recipe book

Warranty 18 months

Overall rating it has an overall rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Overall Review87% of the reviews for this Cuisinart baby food maker have a 4 or 5 star rating. This is far more than just a food processor. It also steams food to prepare it for processing and doubles as a bottle warmer. People like that it cooks and purees in the same bowl, leaving less to clean up after making baby food. The work bowl has a 4 cup capacity, which is larger than most. Users love the extra capacity as it allows them to make large batches and freeze some for later use. And it still has a relatively small footprint, making it easy to find room to store it when not in use. It also eliminates the need for a dedicated bottle warmer, saving you even more counter top space.

All the parts of this machine that come into contact with food are BPA-free, which is really important for the health of your baby. Many reviewers also like the look of this machine. It is designed to look like a kitchen appliance that belongs on your counter top rather than a toy that belongs in the baby's room.

The most often repeated complaint about this machine is that mold can build up in the water reservoir. It can not be removed for a complete cleaning. It is suggested that you run a mixture of vinegar and water through the machine periodically to prevent this. Reviewers also say that if you leave the lid up on the unit after use to allow it to completely dry, mold will not form. READ ALL 137 DETAILED CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Beaba Babycook Baby Food Maker

Blender capacity 2.5  CUP

Accessories and extras Recipe book

Warranty 1 year

Motor 350 watts

Overall rating The Beaba Babycook has a rating of 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Overall Review64% of the reviews for this Baeba baby food maker have a 4 or 5 star rating. This is so much more than just a food processor. It also steams and defrosts food to prepare it for processing. All parts that come into contact with food are BPA and PVC-free. The majority of reviews paint a picture of a handy appliance that is exactly what you need to create nutritious meals for your baby with ease.

Almost all of the negative reviews refer to the same issue: a stinky, slimy brown substance in the water reservoir after repeated use. Many think this is mold. The company claims that the reservoir is ceramic and therefore impervious to mold. They say a simple de-scaling will take care of the problem. They also suggest using distilled water if this has happened in your machine. However, users report that using distilled water does not prevent the slimy brown substance. Regardless of what the substance actually is, you obviously don't want to feed it to your baby. There are some reviewers that offer a very possible explanation for this problem. There is a splatter guard that needs to be used in addition to the lid while pureeing. Some food may splash into the reservoir if the splatter guard is not properly secured. The splashed food then gets cooked in the reservoir, turning it brown. Many people also say it is a good idea to leave the lid off after use to allow the unit to fully dry. Many of the negative reviews still refer to the Baby Bella Rocket as "ok" or "good but not great". It is important to keep in mind that this is a very inexpensive option and you shouldn't expect the same high quality you get with the high-end brands. This is a cheap way to have a dedicated appliance for baby food. There are also some reports of the motor breaking or the cups chipping and cracking after a few months. A product like this is basically designed to get you through the months that your baby eats pureed foods; it is not likely to be around for many years. READ ALL 28 CUSTOMER REVIEWS
