How did we come up with this list of the best food processors in each price range? We read thousands of customer reviews for every model available today. We coupled that with our combined considerable experience in restaurants, in retail food industries and as dedicated home cooks. Not only have we used the models in question, but working with thousands of new cooks throughout our careers has helped us to understand the reasons behind some bad reviews. Many of these negative reviews stem from a lack of food processor knowledge on the part of the user. We have come up with the best option in each price category to spare consumers the days or weeks of research it would take to reach similar conclusions. Here is our pick for the best food processor under $150:

The refurbished KitchenAid KFP740WH 9-Cup Food Processor with an included 4 cup mini bowl is a smart choice for many home cooks. By buying refurbished, you get a great machine at a much lower price. Overall Rating 4.5 out of 5 stars

Overall Review84% of the reviews of this food processor were accompanied by a 4 or 5 star rating. The reviewers were impressed by the quiet yet powerful motor which allows for quick and precise processing. This is a sturdy machine with proven reliability. This food processor can easily handle most kitchen tasks with ease. The full size and mini bowls make this model even more useful.

The majority of complaints stemmed from issues with leakage, either from the sides or center stem. This is normally the result of processing too much liquid at once. It is not advisable to fill any food processor more than halfway with liquids. Some reviewers feel that the height of the center stem where the blade rests is too low and contributes to leakage. It may be a bit lower than some models (to accommodate the mini bowl) but this should in no way affect the functionability of the processor, since the fill line remained the same. If you need to process large amounts of liquids at once, you either need a blender (best choice) or a larger food processor.

There were also a few complaints about the weight of this unit. It is quite heavy for it's size, but that's a good thing. The extra weight is due to the powerful motor and it adds to the overall stability of this machine. See All 193 Reviews
