Black & Decker HC306 1-1/2-Cup One-Touch Electric Chopper

 B owl Size Mini– 1 1/2 Cup

Accessories and extras –none

Overall Rating 4 out of 5 stars

Overall Review  69% of the reviews for this food processor were accompanied by a 4 or 5 star rating. The work bowl is only 1 1/2 cups and this will not (and should not) take the place of a regular full-sized food processor. It is a great addition to a well stocked kitchen for those times when a regular food processor is just too large. This machine is designed for small tasks, such as chopping garlic, herbs or nuts. You could also chop or puree small amounts of vegetables, but they will have to be cut into small chunks first.

This is a very inexpensive machine and as expected, the motor isn't that powerful. Reviewers report that it can handle cold butter, but not frozen. It works well with soft vegetables but struggles with tough, high-fiber veggies. The unsealed lid means you need to limit the volume of liquid to very small amounts to prevent leaking.

Many people praise this little appliance and love the time it saves them in kitchen prep. Others want something with more power and consistency. It all comes down to whether or not you have realistic expectations. A $10 food chopper will not perform as well as a $200 food chopper. And you shouldn't expect it to do that.

Looking for an appliance that can do it all? You may be better off buying a food processor with both a full size and mini bowl instead of two separate machines. Overall, this is a very cheap appliance that is a decent value for someone who only plans on light usage. There are certainly better options out there, but not at this low price. See All 479 Black & Decker Food Processor Reviews

Overall Rating 3.5 out of 5 stars

Overall Review71% of the reviews of this food processor were accompanied by a 4 or 5 star rating. The authors of those reviews had realistic expectations for such a cheap model. This is a very inexpensive option and it works well, for its low price. You should not expect it to be the best option out there; at this price point, it clearly will not be the best you can find. But Black and Decker does a great job of providing affordable options to home cooks. Sure, everyone would love to be able to plunk down $400 for a high-performing Breville Sous Chef, but in the real world many people just can't afford these things. So should you expect a $30 Black and Decker to be comparable to the industry leading models that cost 15 times as much? Absolutely not! It has power and consistency issues. It is very loud. The parts are made of inexpensive light-weight plastic. But it does slice, chop, puree and grate foods. And it does it at a very affordable price.

The negative reviews also involved a lot of product failure, not too surprising at this low price. This model is best suited to someone who only plans on occasional light use.  See All 602 Reviews for this Food Processor

Black & Decker EHC650 2-Speed Food Chopper with 3-Cup Bowl

Bowl Sizecompact – 3 cup

Accessories and extrasnone

Watts- 150

Weight- 2 pounds

Overall Rating 4 out of 5 stars

Size-  5.3 x 9 x 5.1 inches

Overall Review  77% of the reviews for this food processor were accompanied by a 4 or 5 star rating. Most reviewers say this is a good chopper to have on hand for small tasks. This is a very inexpensive unit and can be very helpful, as long as you have realistic expectations. It is good for small, easy tasks such as chopping nuts or fresh herbs.

Some of the reviews say this food chopper leaves things in uneven chunks at times; this is to be expected in this very low price range. There are also a few complaints specifically about soft items, like tomatoes. Tomatoes are difficult to chop for a food processor. They require a very sharp blade and a powerful motor.

Many reviewers disliked the design of this item; the motor is attached to the lid. This means you can't immerse the lid of the food chopper in water, which completely rules out using the dishwasher. Many people feel that just wiping the lid is not sanitary enough. There may be some bacterial contamination on the lid as result. Also, there are complaints about food getting stuck under the blade. Accessories and extrasnone

Watts- this has a 500 watt motor

Weight-  it weighs 8 pounds

Overall Rating it has an overall rating of 3.5 out of 5 stars

Size- this unit measures about 11 x 9.6 x 16.6 inches

Overall Review  59% of the reviews for this food processor were accompanied by a 4 or 5 star rating. That is not that great of an approval rating. The positive reviews are very happy to have such a large, full-sized food processor for such a low price. They realize that the quality will not rival what you would find in a more expensive model. Most reviewers say this model does an ok job at most tasks and quickly takes care of kitchen prep work. Looking for an inexpensive option? Hamilton Beach makes a full-sized model that is about the same price but consistently gets better ratings.

What will you find lurking in the negative reviews? This is a very light-weight food processor that jumps around while in use. It lacks the heavy motor found on more expensive models and instead uses suction cups to keep it in place. Many people report uneven results and food being turned to mush rather than being chopped. Rather than solid, heavy-duty, sharp blades it has serrated blades (that's also a trick used by cheaper knife companies). There are also complaints about how loud this unit is; that is a very common compliant with cheaper models. READ 187 DETAILED REVIEWS
