Overall Review –  75% of the reviews for this  food processor are favorable and accompanied by a 4 or 5 star rating. One reviewer put it best by writing "less than optimum for either a food processor or a blender, but a budget and space-saving solution." Yes, there are better food processors out there. Yes, there are better blenders out there. But if you have space and/or budget constraints, this may be an option for you.

This comes with a 400 watt motor, which is a bit under-powered for a full-sized processor. This is adequete power for the majority of reviewers, but if you intend to do a lot of heavy processing (doughs, nut butters, etc..), this may not be the one for you. It is lightweight and has a small footprint. DeLonghi compensates for the lighter weight with suction cups on the bottom to keep it in place. Some users complain it is noisy, while others say it is not any louder than other low-priced processors. Most people agree it is easy to use and clean, with the exception of the blender. The blender is all one piece; you can not remove the blade for cleaning. Food can get trapped under the blades, making cleaning a chore.

There seems to be some confusion regarding the actual size of the food processor bowl. Some reviewers are claiming that 9 cups is the combined capacity of both the FP bowl and blender cup. Some assigned poor ratings to this model based on what they felt was deceptive advertising. We contacted DeLonghi to be certain of the size. It has a 9 cup FP bowl and a 5 cup blender jar; the combined capacity is actually 14 cups. Why the confusion? The working bowl capacity for the FP bowl is only 4.25 cups when working with liquids. This is common with food processors. The size refers to the capacity of the work bowl when filled to the very top, even though you will never be able to process an entire 9 cups at once, especially if you are dealing with liquids. This is not decpetive advertising by DeLonghi; all food processors refer to their capacity in this way. READ ALL 83 REVIEWS

Overall ReviewOnly 27 % of the reviews for this food processor carry a 4 or 5 star rating. Many people were disapointed that all the accesories shown in the DeLonghi video are not included with this model. The juicer, mini-mill and small cup mixer are available to purchase, but do not come automatically with the DFP950. You DO get both the blender and the food processor equipped with the standard blade as well as two different grating discs, an egg beater, a dough blade and a scale. One very justified complaint is regarding the design of the shredding/grating discs. They are smaller than the work bowl by about an inch all around. This allows food to pass into the bowl without being processed. There are also a high percentage of reviews written by users whose machines broke after a year or two, something generally not expected with a $300 appliance. READ ALL 11 CUSTOMER REVIEWS
