Overall Rating4.5 out of 5 stars

Overall ReviewThis food processor is ideal for almost any cook. It has the large capacity bowl for anyone who prepares food for more than 2 people as well as the mini bowl for smaller projects. It easily chops, grates, purees and slices as well as preparing dough. 90% of the reviewers love this food processor and gave it 4 or 5 stars. They marvel at it's quiet yet powerful motor, how useful the two bowls and several accessories are, and it's overall solid performance.

The most common complaint from the other 10%? Leakage. You can not fill any food processor bowl anywhere near the top without leakage resulting. You must either do multiple batches or use a blender. This main bowl does have a clearly marked liquid fill line. The mini bowl does not, but a good general rule is to only fill a work bowl about halfway. When used as intended, this is a great machine. Overall Review – 79% of the reviews for this food processor were accompanied by a 4 or 5 star rating. This food processor is highly recommended by most reviewers. It’s efficient and able to easily handle most small to medium kitchen tasks. Many reviewers commented on how powerful yet quiet the motor was.

A few unfavorable reviews referred to this food processor’s inability to process large amounts of food at once. This will be in issue in any compact food processor, the only way around it is to buy a full size food processor.

There is one problem mentioned in the reviews of this model; KitchenAid does not make several of their attachments in the 7 cup size. The dough blade and a few of the slicing and shredding discs are only available for the the full sized models. Overall Rating4.5 out of 5 stars

Overall Review88% of the reviews of this food processor were either 4 or 5 stars. 2 out of the 3 one star reviews were written by people who have never used this food processor but somehow felt a suspicion that the 5 star reviews were written by KitchenAid. This paranoia is completely unwarranted because many of the good reviews were submitted by verified purchasers, something that isn't true for the 3 star and lower reviews. Most of the reviews paint a picture of a good, solid food processor capable of handling most kitchen tasks. It is well powered and stable. There was one common complaint that was mentioned over and over; the feed tube is too small. Most customers were willing to overlook this shortcoming due to the overall good performance of this machine. One thing to consider: the 12 cup KitcheAid has all of the desirable attributes with a larger feed tube and a lower price. There are 92 detailed reviews available for this food processor. Overall Rating 4 out of 5 stars

Overall Review -  71% of the reviews of this food processor are accompanied by a 4 or 5 star rating. Those who use this model for small projects such as chopping herbs or garlic tend to give this food processor great reviews. Those who tried to use it for pureeing soup, chopping large amounts of food or making bread dough weren't nearly as generous in their reviews. That last one isn't a joke; there was one reviewer who actually expressed disappointment in this food processor's inability to make bread dough. That's a clear case of expecting something out of the wrong type of product. It's important to remember that any food processor with a 4 cup or smaller bowl is going to be very limited in it's use. Check out our Food Processor Buying Guide for more information on food processors sizes.

There were also several cases of this machine breaking and needing to be completely replaced. The only up side to that is it gives you a glimpse into KitchenAid's customer service record, which is quite good.

Many of the reviews mentioned the noise level of this food processor. The strange thing is, there are as many people commenting on how quiet it is as there are those who say it is unacceptably loud. This could either be a case of differing expectations or faulty motors.

This food processor does not come with any slicing or shredding disks, and they are not available to purchase separately. There are 246 reviews available for this food processor, written by real people who have used this model. See All 246 Reviews

Overall Rating - 4.5 out of 5 stars

Overall Review84% of the reviews of this food processor were accompanied by a 4 or 5 star rating. The reviewers were impressed by the quiet yet powerful motor which allows for quick and precise processing. This is a sturdy machine with proven reliability. This food processor can easily handle most kitchen tasks with ease. The full size and mini bowls make this model even more useful.

The majority of complaints stemmed from issues with leakage, either from the sides or center stem. This is normally the result of processing too much liquid at once. It is not advisable to fill any food processor more than halfway with liquids. Some reviewers feel that the height of the center stem where the blade rests is too low and contributes to leakage. It may be a bit lower than some models (to accomodate the mini bowl) but this should in no way affect the functionability of the processor, since the fill line remained the same. If you need to process large amounts of liquids at once, you either need a blender (best choice) or a larger food processor.

There were also a few complaints about the weight of this food processor. It is quite heavy for it's size, but that's a good thing. The extra weight is due to the powerful motor and it adds to the overall stability of this machine. There are 193 reviews available for this food processor. See All 193 Reviews
