Mini Processors/ Choppers- 2 Cups or smaller

A mini food processor or food chopper may not be the best bet as your only food processor, but it is handy to have for smaller jobs when you don't want to pull out your full size processor. It is the best tool for chopping herbs or garlic.

Bowl Size Mini– 1 1/2 Cup

Accessories and extras –none

Overall Rating 3.5 out of 5 stars

Overall Review  67% of the reviews for this food processor were accompanied by a 4 or 5 star rating. This chopper is a great value when used as intended. It is important to remember the bowl is only 1 1/2 cups and this will not (and should not) take the place of a regular food processor. It is a great addition to a well stocked kitchen for those times when a regular food processor is just too large. This machine is designed for small tasks, such as chopping garlic, herbs or nuts. You could also chop or puree small amounts of vegetables, but they will have to be cut into small chunks first.

Looking for a food processor that can do it all? You may be better off buying a food processor with both a full size and mini bowl instead of two separate machines. There are 144 reviews available for this food processor / food chopper. See All 144 Reviews

Overall Rating 4.5 out of 5 stars

Overall Review  83% of the reviews of this food processor / food chopper were accompanied by a 4 or 5 star rating. Editors note: Although this machine has a similar rating to the 1 1/2 cup Black & Decker chopper, we recommend the B&D over this model because the Proctor Silex has no "on" button (the machine automatically turns on when the lid is closed.) This makes pulsing for even results much more difficult. In addition, there were several reviewers who reported cracks in the plastic bowl after minimal use.

Accessories and extras –48-ounce blender and 2-cup food processor with interchangeable power pod

Overall Rating4 out of 5 stars

Overall Review69% of the reviews were accompanied by a 4 or 5 star rating. While that might not seem very high at first glance, this is a very low priced product and many tend to expect high priced performance.

This product has the added feature of a blender cup in addition to the processing bowl. This allows for ice chopping and drink mixing as well as traditional food processor functions. Both the cup and bowl come with lids for easy storage of food after processing.

The one and two star reviews paint a picture of a cheaply made plastic product that will most certainly break after a few uses. Some say this happened after 3 or 4 uses, others regularly used the processor for months before destruction occurred. Overall, the design appears to be sound. Everyone agreed it worked well for it's intended purposes, at least in the beginning. It's poor reviews all come down to reliability and durability issues. Sadly, this is to be expected in any food processor that's this low priced. It is indeed a clear case of "you get what you pay for."

If you are looking for something for occasional use or perhaps a small gadget for a new cook this processor is definitely worth considering. It's ease of use and low price make it an appealing choice for short term or intermittent use. You can make salsa, hummus, mixed drinks and many other items that tend to be difficult or time consuming to prepare by hand. It has clearly marked measurements on the side making recipes easy to follow and eliminating the need for separate measuring cups. All in all, a useful kitchen tool if you don't expect to use it that often. Buying this through the links above protects you for the first 30 days with Amazon's return policy.

Editors note: for $1 more, this 6 Cup Hamilton Beach Food Processor consistently gets better reviews. It still has some of the problems associated with cheaper models yet offers much more bang for your buck! Click here to see reviews of this food processor.
